Sharon
Weis, who will exhibit
8 new paintings, is an artist from Louisville whose paintings
focus on women in their own environments. Formally, she creates
a wonderful juxtaposition by placing an organic figure in a
geometric space. The works are loosely painted in rich color
with enough detail to be recognizable people in particular places,
while retaining their universal appeal.
A Celebration of Women Artists, featuring
Sharon Weis, has been organized to honor the 25th Anniversary
of the Kentucky Women Writers Conference at the University
of Kentucky on March 25, 26 and 27th.
